During this time, Steve built a diverse network and a strong understanding of both the maritime and insurance industries. This allowed him to leverage his knowledge, network and reputation gained over many years to best serve his clients and help develop the maritime industry.

As a qualified captain and engineer, Steve crewed and captained superyachts, charter and tourism boats around Australia, through Asia and the US / Caribbean. As crew, he saw most types of incidents at sea; as an insurance broker, he has seen all kinds of claims and responses from insurers.

Steve's experience at sea and in insurance allows him to see different perspectives and handle marine risks and insurance differently; he knows the value of effective risk management and wants the same for his clients.
