Captain Simon Stewart

Having completed a Deck Officer Cadetship with ASP Ship Management in 1993 Simon went on to serve on vessels for various Oil Majors including Shell, BHP Petroleum and various offshore oil and gas manning companies in all ranks up to and including Master.
After finishing a stint in the subsea oil and gas construction arena as a Dynamic Positioning Officer Simon formed Stewart Maritime Pty Ltd to serve as a consultant to his first client Samson Maritime Pty Ltd and went on to serve as a Director of their Singapore entity Samson Maritime Pte Ltd.
Simon subsequently became a Director of Westug Management a Harbour Towage Company in W.A and was their inaugural Chairman.
Continuing to operate Stewart Maritime Pty Ltd as an Independent Marine Surveyor and Consultant for various clients such as Normarine Services Pty Ltd, Bureau Veritas, and Inchcape Shipping Services, Simon has been interested in Marine Insurance and became qualified as a Marine Insurance Broker through ANZIIF in 2019 and enjoys placing risks with insurers to cover client’s cargo interests.

When not working Simon relaxes by producing wine on his vineyard in Northern Tasmania.
